HyPlat partner Powercell to present at this year’s Africom
PowerCell is a recently-listed Swedish green energy company with world-leading fuel cell and fuel reforming technology for generating electricity in an efficient and environmentally friendly way from widely available hydrocarbon fuels, including diesel. PowerCell develops and distributes advanced systems for the transport industry and the telecommunication industry.
PowerCell’s PowerPac is a compact, competitive 3kW power supply unit that efficiently converts road diesel into electricity with no noxious emissions and silent operation.
The PowerPac will be first applied to power telecommunication towers and launched in Africa. PowerCell is working with international partners to develop and test a product optimised for this market. A prototype will be on show at AfricaCOM. PowerCell will rapidly build up its South African subsidiary, head-quartered in Johannesburg, to produce and support the PowerPac.
PowerCell Sweden AB, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, is a spin-out from the Volvo Group with the mission to produce environmentally friendly power systems based on its patented fuel cell and reformer technologies. PowerCell is listed on NASDAQ First North exchange in Stockholm with major shareholders being Volvo Group Venture Capital, Fouriertransform, Midroc New Technologies and Finindus.
